We have some very exciting news to share! Drum roll please... After many months of tentative, nail-biting speculation, it's now official, it's been confirmed, we are proud and delighted to announce that Landmark Street Art Gallery will be exhibiting at the London 2018 Moniker International Art Fair!
This is not just exciting news, this is a seriously awesome, mind blowing news!
Why is this so great?
On the most basic level, Moniker is the world's largest urban art fair, but that description doesn't begin to do it justice. Moniker is not your average art fair. Moniker has to be seen - no, it has to be experienced - to be believed.
For a start (and this is why this means so much to us), Moniker is very, very selective. This year even more so, the usual forty gallery limit has been cut to just thirty. And it's invitation only.
From their website - 'Each gallery and artist present has been personally invited to appear within Moniker’s walls... There is no open call for exhibitors; there is no buy in – only those making waves and pushing boundaries make it through the doors.'
Landmark are one of the very few ‘Young Galleries’ at the show, those who’ve been on the scene for less than two years. Gallerist, Ben, is really very excited! 'This is the first of our gallery shows. It puts us right up there on the worldwide stage. Being accepted by Moniker is an incredible validation of everything that the team at Landmark believe in, everything we've been working for. Moniker epitomises the very heart, the truth of street art culture. It's not formal, it's not forced, it's laser focussed on the best in the contemporary urban art scene, and it's gonna be a lot of fun!'

Never the same thing twice
Part of Moniker's appeal to artists and punters alike is their very strict curation process within the gallery applications. Each gallery will represent a very specific pre-agreed selection of artists, unique to them. Unlike many shows and art fairs, at Moniker, you will never see the same thing twice.
The theme of the London show this year is UNCENSORED, which we're totally down with. The artists we are taking all came from the street scene, they were out doing their wild thing way before they moved into anything for internal walls, two are from the time when there was no street art shows, before mainstream galleries dared take them on. But also all our artists do not confine themselves to the studio. They're all still out there, uncensored, appearing on a wall near you, perhaps, and that's what gives their work the edge, the energy that defines each of their very different and unique styles.

Landmark represents a wide variety of hugely talented street artists, many different styles, from all over the world. Sadly, we can't take them all, and have selected three of our greatest to take along. But we don't want to show you all the candy on day one now do we, so watch out for another blog soon announcing our heavy hitters! Needless to say like any top cat we will make sure we aim to be number one!
What can you expect to see at Moniker this year?
Moniker Art Fair is a unique piece of art in itself, a fully immersive experience from the moment you arrive. Moniker presents the greatest that the contemporary urban art scene has to offer, both delighting and challenging the viewer. Your eyes will be opened to an incredible collection of artworks from across the world, in a fun, welcoming, accessible environment.
At the time of writing, we are working with two of our artists to create limited edition print releases, which will be exclusively released from the Landmark stand during the Moniker art fair. You will not want to miss out on that as both these artists editions always sell out to a worldwide audience. We are extremely grateful to all our artists for their wholehearted support for Landmark at our debut on the art fair scene, and we look forward to hanging out with one or two of them during the show.
Creative Debuts who rocked it in the young galleries collection at New york
Ben would also like to express his personal thanks to Fair Director, Tina Ziegler, who has been genuinely massively supportive throughout the entire process. ‘Tina totally gets what we’re all about. To be recognised as a leading young gallery to watch, by someone of Tina’s experience and standing is quite humbling, and I’d like to thank her for giving us the opportunity to justify that at the fair in October.’
We’ll keep you updated as preparations continue. You can read more about Moniker International Art Fair in our blog post (Here) about the first international show in New York in May this year.
